FAQS

  • When do Spring Cleanups start?
Your spring cleanup takes place as soon as the lawn is dry enough to work on. That being said, our power rake may find the odd soft or wet spot while working. While our staff are experienced, it is impossible to know where a soft spot might be until the machine goes over it. Damage is rare but if/when any damage occurs it will be superficial. No damage is done to the root structure, and with the spring moisture and growth spurt, any damaged area will recover within just a few days.
  • When will Weekly Grass Cutting start?
Weekly maintenance will start about 10-14 days after your spring cleanup. During the cleanup, your lawn will be cut a bit shorter to ensure all the dead grass is collected. To give the grass time to recover and thicken, we’ll wait at least 10 days before resuming regular mowing once it has grown past 3 inches. This step is important for promoting healthy lawn growth.
  • Dog feces, and lawn obstructions?
If you have a dog that uses your lawn, please be mindful to remove and excessive amounts of feces before we come for any services. If you have booked a spring cleanup, weekly cutting or any other services we will email out a schedule for when your services will take place and a automated text message will be sent 24 hours in advance. Our team maintains a regular schedule for weekly service so please ensure any obstructions such as toys, materials, garbage or dog feces is removed from the lawn before we come. If there is an exccessive amount of obstructions the visit may be reschduled.
  • Is the sand on my boulevard removed with the Spring Cleanup
Included in our spring cleanup, we power sweep all the sand that has gone into the lawn from the winter months. If the city street sweepers have not gone by your neighborhood yet, the sand will be left on the street for the street sweepers to collect. If the city sweepers have already cleaned your neighborhood, our crews will remove and dispose of the sand included in the cost of your spring cleanup.
  • How are rock & mulch beds cleaned out?
Included in our spring cleanup, all of the garden beds on your property are blown out for leaves, sticks, and loose debris. This is all collected and removed from the property included in the price of your cleanup. If some extra attention is required, such as spraying a non-selective weed killer in the rocks, or hand picking larger weeds that are too big to be sprayed, please reach out to our team through email or phone and we will be sure to help you with this situation.
  • Do pine needles and crab apples get sucked during Spring Cleanup?
At this time, the lawn care industry has not developed a machine specifically designed to handle these tasks. If you have pine needles on your lawn, our mower will typically collect most of them. However, if they’ve settled into wood mulch, or have a heavy build up under pine trees we won’t be able to separate or remove them. As for crab apples, we do not handle their removal. This is a task best managed by homeowners during the short period when the apples fall. The cost of removing crab apples is not included in your regular lawn care service, and we want to note that our staff has experienced numerous bee and wasp stings from the fruit. Collecting fallen fruit can pose significant health risks to our team.
  • Can I choose what height I want my lawn cut at?
Certainly! While we highly encourage following our recommendations, as they are designed to keep your lawn in the best possible health, we understand if you'd like some flexibility. If you prefer a shorter lawn, we suggest trimming only the back if that’s where you tend to spend most of your time. Many homeowners choose to keep their backyard shorter to reduce mosquitoes and make the lawn more enjoyable for activities, while leaving the front lawn thicker and longer for curb appeal.
  • Can I choose what day of the week my lawn is cut?
Our team works on a very tight schedule to ensure all of our weekly lawn care clients get there yard serviced on a consistent and timely manner every week. To provide a consistent schedule our team has designated routes in different neighborhoods that repeat the same on a weekly basis. Unfortunately this makes it very hard for our team to put select customers on specific days as this can greatly increase our driving time between jobs, decreases our efficiency while working and creates a scheduling issue. For these reasons we notify our customers when there weekly cutting will take place.
  • What height does out lawn get cut at?
"We adjust the cutting height throughout the year to promote root development, conserve water, and improve resistance to weeds, insects, and diseases. In spring, when the lawn is growing most actively, we cut at 3″ to encourage deeper roots, which helps with water retention and efficiency in the summer. During the hotter summer months, we raise the height to 3.5″ to boost water retention, reduce evaporation, and shield the lower parts of the plant and soil from the sun's harsh heat. In fall, we lower the cutting height back to 3″
  • Can you cancel in the middle of service or skip cuts?
We understand if you need to skip a weekly mowing, but please note that we do not offer refunds for skipped services. There are a few reasons for this. First, when a cut is missed, it often results in extra work on the next visit, even if it’s only slight. Second, when you sign up for our service, you’re agreeing to regular weekly care on a month to month basis. We depend on predictable schedules to manage our expenses, keep our team employed, and maintain a steady workflow. We’re not set up to accommodate sporadic requests or casual customers. Finally, not all mowings require the same amount of effort. During the spring, grass grows quickly, meaning those cuts require more attention. The time spent on spring cuts helps balance out the lighter, easier mowings later in the summer, keeping the overall weekly cost consistent. If you are planning to cancel service please inform us as soon as possible so we can finish the service until the end of the current month and then cancel the service.
  • Locked Gates?
Our team always starts with the back lawn to ensure they can service your entire property. If they arrive and find your gate locked, they will not be able to complete your weekly maintenance. You will be contacted to reschedule the service. Please keep in mind we maintain a regular schedule for weekly service and automated visit reminders are sent out 24 hours before we perform a service.
  • What if my lawn isn't growing because its dry?
Since it's difficult to predict when it might rain or determine which customers are watering their lawns, we stick to a regular weekly schedule for mowing. If your lawn is very dry and not growing, it's important to water it to prevent serious and permanent damage from insects and diseases. Watering the lawn will also drastically improve the success and performance of any of our weed control and fertilizer programs. If you do need to skip a weekly cut for your lawn, please reach out to our team and we will arrange this, but a refund will not be applied.
  • What should I do if I want to make changes to our service
For the best service, please contact our office directly to ensure our team is fully informed of your needs. While we make every effort to assign the same staff for your weekly maintenance, there may be occasions when a different team member is scheduled. By notifying our office, we can ensure that your requests are added to your file and communicated to all staff working on your property.
